Today, during our monthly call with the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce, we learned about something special happening right here in Madison — and we couldn't wait to share it with you. 76Total Apartments19Reserved for Veterans Aug 27Groundbreaking Date

A Call That Changed Our Day

This morning started like any other. We were settling into our monthly call with the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce when Chris Bailey, Vice President with Cordon Housing, joined to share something extraordinary.

He began talking about Kelley Station — a project that's breaking ground in Madison next week. But as he continued, we realized this wasn't just another housing development. This was something our veteran community has been waiting for.

More Than Just a Place to Live

Located at 2462 East Washington Avenue in Madison, Kelley Station will provide 76 brand-new apartments. But here's what made us sit up and take notice: 19 of those apartments are dedicated specifically for veterans, with rents based on the area's median income.

As Chris explained it, "This isn't just about housing for veterans at the Kelley project. They want to work with benefits, services, outreach — all things veteran-related under one umbrella."

The Bigger Picture

What really caught our attention was how Chris described their vision. The housing is just one piece of the puzzle. They're looking at the greater picture for veterans — how they can benefit, how they can make veteran lives better, and how they can help our heroes get incorporated into civilian life.

🏠Affordable Housing: Income-based rent for 19 veteran families🤝Benefits Support: Help navigating VA benefits and services📞Community Outreach: Connecting veterans with local resources🎯Transition Services: Supporting the journey from military to civilian life

Why This Matters to Us

At Reward Our Heroes, we've seen firsthand the challenges veterans face when transitioning to civilian life. Finding stable, affordable housing is often the first hurdle. But Kelley Station isn't stopping there — they're addressing the whole veteran experience.

As we listened to Chris describe the project, we kept thinking: "This is exactly what our community needs." A place where veterans aren't just housed, but truly supported.

We'll Be There

As soon as Chris finished sharing the details, we knew we had to be part of this moment. Next week, on August 27th, we'll be at the groundbreaking ceremony to witness this important milestone for Madison's veteran community.

We'll be sharing everything with you — the excitement, the hope, and the promise of what Kelley Station represents for our veterans. Because when our heroes win, we all win.
